Oriental Carpets and Oriental Area Rugs have become highly appreciated throughout the world as the work of art and also been the gold standard in floor covering everywhere from nomadic huts to grand palaces for thousands of years.
It is a golden period during the 15th century to 16th century for the development of oriental hand-woven carpets, at which the art of hand-woven carpets reached its peak in the Persian Safavi dynasty. Many artists began to engage in carpet designing to create more elegant patterns of plants and flowers-curve motifs at the base of existed straight geometric patterns. And the pattern presents a more complex floral and Arabic design, sometimes with human and animal motifs. At the beginning of the 20th century, oriental hand-woven carpets gradually entered into the wealthy families of western countries. Not only did they have practical and decorative effects, but they were also regarded as works of art. And they were developed into the same grade of art as oil painting and sculpture. Oriental handmade carpets and Chinese porcelain from Asia are considered two major contributions to improving the quality of life of Westerners.
